KGB 2.5 is the version number used for various updates to KGB that were/have been released during the 2011-2012 academic year. Major changes are related to CtFwS, the Office, and the Website.

Notes: in keeping with recent version numbering trends, versions 3 through 44 of KGB should be released within the next 8 to 12 months.

CtFwS Rules Changes

Although these modifications are currently in pre-release alpha testing, word has spread that the rules of Capture the Flag with Stuff may be updated in time for spring semester. The new release will fix version control issues and also define previously undefined behaviors in certain rare interactions. Rumors of a major rules change are unconfirmed.

KGB Office Cleaning

One not-so-wintry Sunday afternoon in December, after eons of resolutely declaring that the Office would be cleaned "soon," Exec finally got down to the business of discovering our history. Dozens of t-shirts and outsized rolls of bubble wrap were among the spoils. Glitter, the herpes of craft supplies, remained mostly contained during the process.

The Great Server Move of 2011

Kremthing went down. Panic ensued. KGB's back end was not so solid as we had believed. A mere tap was enough to jar loose a plug, revealing a gaping hole in our infrastructure. We needed a plan, and so Exec got its creative juices flowing to come to a solution. CClub delivered, opening the way for us to pull our data out from Kremthing and move it to hard discs on CClub servers.
