'''Pacific Ring''' is a restaurant on Murray Ave in [[Squill]] where KGB often goes for [[Geek Eat]]. It replaced the defunct Sichuan House in late 2005. They have Chinese food and [[sushi]]. The menu is available on their [http://www.pacificringpittsburgh.com/ web site].

It is a running debate ''(or should be, dammit)'' whether the restaurant would become slightly more or slightly less non-worksafe-sounding if it were renamed "Pacific Rim".

Pacific Ring closed in March 2011, and was replaced by China Star.

CS Lounge

Wean 5328 was once the CS Undergraduate Lounge. Many KGB people hung out there. In 2005 it was converted to classroom space, due to a shortage of space during the construction of the [[Gates Hillman Center]].

While this seems to imply that the Sergeant at Arms has the duty to obey the orders of the chair, the Sergeant at Arms is often found to prefer sitting on top of a video projector, blithely blowing bubbles.

The primary duty of the Sergeant at Arms is not listed in the Bylaws. It is the Sergeant at Arms's job to take care of [[KGB]]'s [[stuff]]. This booth was KGB's second [[booth]] ever and its first victory. It won first place in the Independent category, but was very stressful and expensive for the organization to build. It sure was beautiful, though.

The booth was a recreation of Saint Basil's Cathedral in Moscow, and was topped with colorful onion domes. The interior was fully drywalled and painted, and contained original painted artwork. The game was exciting and difficult, and consisted of trying to knock down a succession of dolls using tennis ball "bombs". The prizes for fully completing the game were authentic Russian "city pins".

A Chinese restaurant where KGB people like to eat, conveniently located near campus just across the Panther Hollow bridge. They don't have any [[half price]] hours, but their regular prices are fairly reasonable, with many meals costing $5-6. If you are in a hurry, they also offer takeout and they're usually pretty fast.

They also have Bubble Tea, which is a yummy drink named after a Chinese slang term for tits.

Margaret Morrison Carnegie Hall (better known as "Maggie Mo") is a building on the [[CMU]] campus. It is controlled by the [[College of Fine Arts]]. Due to the unique topography of Pittsburgh, Margaret Morrison has ground floor entrances on four separate floors.

Margaret Morrison was the home of the first two [[KGB]] [[Kage|Kages]]. In the basement, before the renovations, there was clearly visible a heavily insulated pipe that ran by the original [[Kage]] that was labeled "[[dreams]]." This pipe is no longer visible, and it is unknown whether the flow of [[dreams]] continues unimpeded.

The '''Corporate Brothel''' is a building on Forbes Avenue that CMU leases out to various companies. Officially it is called the Collaborative Innovation Center. This location is very convenient as several KGBers have jobs there.

Originally CMU tried to pimp out space in the basement of the UC (where the post office is now). This made many people very upset. So instead they built the new building next to Hamburg Hall. The corporate brothel has been so successful that they are planning to build another one on the other side of Panther Hollow.

Once upon a time KGB had a nickel of fault. People had a tendency to lose the nickel, thus requiring that it be replaced frequently. The nickel was replaced with many things, including pennies welded together, a nickel embedded in plexiglass, and various foreign coins. Eventually it was replaced with a pfennig, and thus became the [[Pfennig of Pfault]].

One KGB tradition was to have a large group of people go there and then have one person order everything on the menu, usually after everyone else told the waiter they didn't want anything. This tradition ended when Skibo was torn down in 1994.

Useless stuff auction

The [[useless stuff auction]] is one of the last [[:category:events|events]] of the year, at which [[KGB]] [[members]] donate useless [[stuff]]. The [[stuff]] is then auctioned to the highest bidder, and the [[treasury|money]] is kept by [[KGB]].

The [[stuff]] is collected over the course of the year by the [[Sergeant at Arms]]. Providing fuel for the auction is one of the [[S@A]]'s primary responsibilities.

Stuff which does not sell is auctioned again the next year. Nobody has bought the [[Crispy Hexagons]] yet.

Booth

[[Booth]] is the process of constructing a wooden scaffolding for holding [[spackle]] and [[caulk]]. Organizations can Win Booth by having the most uniformly-spackled wooden structures on [[Midway]].

It is very important to ACTUALLY KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING when spackling a booth. If you simply give a bucket of spackle to [[Creidieki]], and tell him "figure out what to do with this", you will not Win Booth. Particularly if he then enlists all of the freshmen.

Anyway, after you [[spackle]] something, you wait for it to dry, and then you sand over it, and then you paint it. Casual afterthought is then used to construct a [[roofs|roof]] and cover it in tar paper. Roof construction is oft-considered the best time of year to identify which KGB members are [[load bearing]].

All of this might be fun, if it didn't cost more than [[KGB]] has spent on anything else, ever. That small detail <i>guarantees</i> fun.
