During the [[Underground tour|Underground Tour]] of Fall 2009, a few individuals on the tour caused some damage to a lamp in [[Baker Hall]] while grappling with a large stick. The university, upon realizing that the damage occurred during a KGB event, held the KGB responsible. Exec from [[2009 Officers|that year]] was unable to determine who the individuals responsible for the damage were, and as a result, was forced to take the blame as an organization.

What this meant was that the university required two things from the KGB: 1) a fee to pay for the repairs and 2) a service project as way of an apology.

Exec polled its members for ideas for a service project. They ended up deciding on a study break/stress releif event during finals that winter. Some ideas that fell by the wayside included hosting a UC Late Night event, putting on a Haunted House for children visiting campus around Halloween, hosting a food drive for Thanksgiving, hosting a toy drive for Christmas/holidays, and teaching basic science courses for CMITES.

The administration was undergoing a change in leadership at the time, so KGB's service project was not a hasty process (as you can tell by their plans changing to be based around Halloween then Thanksgiving then Christmas).

The nature of the service project was basically this: KGB and its members provided various snacks (many of which were graciously donated by Freshmen DinEx), hot chocolate, miso soup, origami toys, bubble wrap to walk over, and other fun things at tables in front of Doherty Hall during Finals Week. The generous project was well received by stressed out students heading to and from exams.
