The Fence is the major focal point of The Cut, and is covered in the seventy-five billion layers of paint used by organizations to promote their events.
In theory, access to The Fence is governed by several rules:
- At least two people must be on the gravel to hold The Fence
- The Fence must not be painted before midnight
- The Fence must not be painted after 6am
- No rollers or spray paint may be used to paint The Fence
In practice, KGB's complete inability to get The Fence when they need it has lead to more creative solutions, such as the creation of a prosthetic fence, such as Mini Fence, a device the KGB used to advertise for CtFwS.
When KGB does manage to get hold of The Fence, it often ends up covered in non-paint materials such as aluminum foil or astroturf.
