Passed
Kevin: are we going to do the booth vote
Kevin: mis booth: hi we’re a booth org if you didn’t know, booth is tradition that CMU has in the spring where students build wood houses in a parking lot, very fun because we get to be creative, since we get to turn a vague theme into a booth, we usually talk about booth in the fall to guage whether the org is interested in doing it this year
Daniel: it feels really cool to build a giant cardboard dinosaur and have little kids look at it and be like wow
Benner: also you get to play with power tools
Kevin: also if you take initiative you get to kill dinosaur with pocket knife (I killed Karl)
Kevin: booth is quite a time commitment in spring because there will be times where we get together to construct pieces of booth, pain ply that covers parts of walls, but it is a good way to take a break from academic work, genuinely I think booth takes time but is worth it, if you vote yes, this isn’t a hard commitment that you will work on booth, but it implies you’d be willing to help work on it, the average time commitment is ~2hours a week, booths are usually 3hrs per
Daniel: vote is not binding, exec does have the power to disregard vote entirely, if you are not willing to make that commitment of your time during build week, you are free to abstain as well
Kevin: POI: I heard there was a possibility that we’d be working with PRISM this year
Daniel: we’re still ironing out how that is going to work, waiting to hear back from a few people, it’s a lot of bureaucracy, solid maybe, there is a possibility that PRISM people will help on booth, we are willing to cede some amount of design control, in order to gain some of their expertise and man power
