I am a member of a church located on Forbes Avenue half a block from Murray, i.e. near campus and on the bus route.  We have a parish hall whose capacity for a standing-around party is about 150, connected to a kitchen whose dishes, cookware, and utensils we could use if we washed them afterward.  There is also a basement gym where kids could run around.  Religious decor in these rooms is minimal.

I don't know the fee structure for non-church groups holding an event there (I've only used the space for Girl Scouts, who are not charged) but I bet it would be more affordable than renting a banquet hall.  We'd have to provide all food and paper napkins, and clean up afterward.  I'm almost certain we'd be allowed to serve alcohol.
