The useless stuff auction is one of the last events of the year, at which KGB members get rid of useless stuff via Bake Barter. The stuff is then auctioned to the highest bidder, and the money is kept by KGB.

Stuff which does not sell is abandoned on the Giving Wall or thrown away.

History

Prior to 2006, stuff was collected over the course of the year by the Sergeant at Arms. Providing fuel for the auction was one of the S@A's primary responsibilities. This was before Bake Barter.

Stuff which did not sell was kept for the next year's auction. There are rumors of Crispy Hexagons that were passed down through the generations this way and never sold.
